Summer Festival Wedding, Athens

Dora & Johan is one of our favorite couples! Their love for each other is so real and palpable that it was hard not to have a smile in your face when you are around them. As for their wedding’s concept, we opted to steer away from anything formal & traditional and create something fresh, unique, different & definitely fun! Something that would reflect the couple’s personalities & their unique love story…

Summer festival themed wedding was like a fairytale with the happiest of endings, taking place on a breezy July afternoon, at Kokotos estate. A unique venue that even though it is located in Athens, its natural landscape immediately gives you the feeling that you are up in a  mountain, far away from the busy & noisy city.

The ceremony was held at the estate’s picturesque small church with the presence of their beloved family and close friends. The atmosphere was emotional & electric, filled with pure love, happiness & joy. The golden light of the sunset against the rolling hills and rows of seemingly endless vineyards of the estate, constituted the perfect natural backdrop for this exceptional ceremony.

Dora was looking astonishing in her boho lace covered wedding gown, designed by Costarellos and her flawless look was completed with a flower wreath. While Johan looked extra sophisticated & smart, in his serious grey tuxedo.

Style wise, we opted to take full advantage of the beautiful surroundings & natural beauty of Kokotos estate and that is why the floral decorations were intentionally kept chic, but simple. The mixture of elegant floral decorations as centerpieces in a muted soft palette on the white wooden tables, seemed ready to play a perfect symphony with the surrounding natural beauty of the venue and the warm tones that the Greek summer sunset always provides. The florals were composed by soft pinks, peaches & yellows, combined with greeneries in glass beer bottles. The table setting looked even more spectacular, when the numerous candles were lighten up. The overall atmosphere of the dinner area was warm, inviting & so magical! In combination with the several fun signs, as well as the string & fairy lights all over the dining area and the dance floor, contributed to a visually stunning result!

The dessert table was another focal point of the reception area, which matched perfectly with the concept of the wedding. A custom made backdrop, lots of delicious desserts & wedding favors, numerous candles & flowers, created an impressive but tasteful result, that enticed guests of all ages to pass by and taste the treats…

As this was a summer festival and not a typical reception, we wanted to make the dinning procedure as fun & interactive, as possible, for the guests. That is why, we created three (3x) different food stations, each representing flavors from another country. Moreover, the guests were able to visit the coffee stand and taste high quality coffee, a typical habit of the Northern Europe. Of course, the ice cream truck could not be missing and the guests could pass by and treat themselves to delicious local ice cream flavors!

Undoubtedly, this wedding day was a special one… This was not attributed only to the fact that the summer festival concept perfectly represented the couple’s uniqueness, but also to the fact that the sentiment prevailed throughout the night, was unconditional love & happiness! Dora & Johan were surrounded by the people they purely love and who came from all over the world to share this milestone moment of their lives.
