Katerina and Dominique’s Wedding Day
Katerina and Dominique’s chic destination wedding in Sifnos, Greece, was a blend of classic wedding style, summer carelessness and traditional greek wedding touches that created the most romantic wedding day ever! Sifnos is the ultimate wedding destination in the Cyclades island group in Greece. Hundreds of couples get married on the island each year, taking advantage of Sifnos’s folklore character and picture-perfect locations. Along with Milos that has our heart, Sifnos is another island we adore!
Our couple wanted a chic island wedding with muted yet refreshing florals, a harmonious color palette of white, blush pink, grey and green and a warm celebration with their friends and family overlooking the sea. Of course, the wedding ceremony was held in the monastery of Chrisopigi (where the view is extraordinary!) built on a small islet joined with the rest of Sifnos with a bridge, at the south-eastern end of the island.
To highlight the traditional greek character of the wedding greek wedding folk instruments and singers accompanied Katerina to the church along with all her friends and family where she met with Dominique. That is a common wedding custom in Greece, as not only her family but all the guests give away the bride to the groom and wish them to live happily ever after. Don’t you just love sweet customs like this one?
After the wedding, the couple took a long walk around the island to all the picture-perfect locations with their wedding photographer, while the guests enjoyed their cocktails before the wedding dinner in Lazarou Beach. Famous for its lovely beach and amazing view, this venue is practically on the water and the guests had the opportunity to enjoy a glorious sunset and take a deep refreshing breath by the sea.
The setting featured countless fairy lights and flowers that made the atmosphere feel homely and warm. For the wedding table, we designed a canopy with flowers to frame the newlyweds. What stole our hearts? The blush pink plates and the golden cutlery! We always base our concepts to guests feeling the togetherness of a wedding and the warmth of being with each other celebrating love! The flowers, fairy lights, and oh-so-beautiful details created the perfect night for Katherine and Dominique!
At the end of the night, everyone was smiling, our couple was slow dancing together in the dancefloor and the sound of the waves slowly drifting made the night magical.
Is there a more beautiful way to end a wedding day? We think not!
